Epilepsy Action Tea (Cake) Break Day
Over the last few days we have been busy baking cakes for our Charity Day in aid of Epilepsy Action, we made a variety of local Fayre – Fat Rascals, Yorkshire Treacle Tart, Yorkshire Scones (with homemade Jam & cream) Yorkshire Tea Loaf and the old favourites Chocolate Cake and Lemon Drizzle!

Friday we started in our Dining room from 10.30am with the help of a friend Frank Rhodes and served tea & coffee, the deal was for people to come in help themselves to whatever cake they fancied and pop some money in the collection pot. The log fire was burning and we had a steady flow of local people/friends (and a couple of our guests!) until 5.30pm – the Total raised was £113.10
However with these events you never want to run out of cake, so everything was carefully stored overnight and we set up a table outside our Front Door on Saturday afternoon and this time sold the remaining cakes….the scones & chocolate cake were very popular with the kids and cyclists (when do they turn down a cake!?) In a couple of hours we raised a further £56.10
So all together over the two days we have raised a total of £169.20 for Epilepsy Action – Thank you to all that supported us.
