Tour de Yorkshire 2016

Settle is the finish town for the flagship cycling race Tour de Yorkshire 2016 on Friday 29th April

Following on from the very successful Grand Depart for the Tour de France back in 2014, Yorkshire was so popular with the professional cycling teams and supporters the new race was created last year

This outstanding cycle race Tour de Yorkshire is now in the international calendar, with the participation of top international teams, who relish the challenge of the route along Yorkshire’s lanes and roads cheered on by the fantastic crowds for support.

The race over the bank holiday weekend attracted one and a half million spectators and over six million global television viewers.

Our Market Town of Settle is very proud to host the finish on the first day of racing and to celebrate this, a festival has been organised to entertain everyone for the whole day.

Not only can you watch the race unfold on the big screen, you can take part in the entertainment and visit all the local pubs, cafe’s, shops all around town as business is open as normal.

The race riders will arrive in the afternoon but arrive early to soak up the atmosphere and if you are arriving by car or public transport check out TDY Information as there will be no parking in the usual sites in the town center. Cycle Racks will be available.
