Someone say Cheese?
The sucess of local cheese’s in Settle began for us when Andy Swinscoe moved into the Courtyard development just outside Settle on the A65 around the same time we bought King William Guest House in 2012.
With its great sucess a few years later the premises moved down the road to the former Falconry Centre. This gave the opportunity to expand the operation into not just selling cheese. The addition of a small museum showing the art of cheese production over the years together with a cafe (show casing the cheese they sell in the shop) and there’s no need to go to the French Alps for a Raclette anymore!
What makes the Courtyard Dairy Cheese shop so special – the knowledge and passion about each cheese. The majority are made on local farms (30mile radius of Settle) and all made with love and care. Andy knows each farm and his knowledge of cheese making is outstanding. As soon as you walk into the shop you are greeted by staff that really know their product and can tell you all about the cheese you are about to taste.
Quality really is special in a good cheese, whether its made from Cow, Sheep or Goats milk – soft, hard or blue there is something for you. You fancy going back home with a little slice of Yorkshire then why not pop in and you won’t be disappointed. If you can’t wait for that then go online and order some for delivery – makes a great present!
To get a feel for what the Courtyard has to offer then check out a recent programme on TV – fast forward to about 45mins! Remarkable Places to Eat
