Settle Victoria Hall Beer Festival and King Billy’s Pub Association

If you read our History Page you will find out that the King William the Fourth Guest House was a Pub from the mid 1830’s up until the early 1970’s. So it was only right the previous owners to us started to name some of the guest rooms after Yorkshire Aie’s. In 2012 we contiuned the theme and later we asked the brewery’s to provide the hand pump signs for each beer name for our doors.

Since we have been in Settle we have supported our local theatre/music hall venue Settle Victoria Hall – World’s Oldest Music Hall opening in 1853 no doubt there is a connection between the venues we would imagine! Pre-Post show drinking for sure!

Therefore when the idea of a Settle Victoria Hall Beer Festival evolved to raise funds to ensure this iconic venue keeps going and continues to bring music, arts, film and culture to this part of North Yorkshire.  This is the fifth year the event has been held, and every year we support it.

We couldn’t say no to be part of this event and as the custodians of our guest house we were pleased to see that this years sponsored barrel of Ale was “Landlady” from Bridge House Brewery (near Keighley, West Yorkshire not that far away!)

Last night was the opening night – of course we had to sample a few beers and enjoy the good atmosphere from both locals and visitors to the town. The Miss Victoria Refreshment gardens at the rear will also host some live music in the afternoons and Saturday will be a band inside the hall as well.  2022 dates from Thursday 4th August to the Saturday 6th August
