We are very blessed here in Settle to have a lovely collection of Independant food shops selling every day items to something a little different or special.

All these shops are within the Market Square and town centre, so you can pop and shop with no hassel.

Firstly I will start with our butcher that we use for our Breakfast items, Bacon, Yorkshire Sausages and Black Pudding

Drake and Macefield

Traditional family butchers, selling locally sourced meat and game, award winning pies, sausages & black pudding.

Drake & Macefield  is an award-winning butcher and champion pie maker with traditional butcher’s shops in Skipton, Settle, Cross Hills and Snaygill. Vault 1789 Fruit and Vegetables (Floral Bouquets and Plants too!)

 

Situated downstairs in the Basement of the Shambles Vault 1789 is an independent shop selling fresh fruit & vegetables, floral arrangements and plants. What’s really great is that you can pick just what you need and pop it into a paper bag – there’s no plastics and excess packaging. All is lovely and fresh with friendly service. There are a couple of treats in the fridge too like Humous and Olives!

Truly Scrumptious – Settle’s traditional sweet shop

Just next door to the butchers is Truly Scrumptious Sweet Shop provides delectable sweet treats to delight people of all age. Every treat from Chocolate and Fudge to Candies – Chewy or Fizzy and hard boiled they have it all – Check out the online catalogue!

Wholesome Bee

Wholesome Bee is a health food shop selling wholefoods, quality supplements and natural body care.  Wholesome bee was so named because of the vision to be healthy, be wholesome, wholesome bee!!!!

Good, organic wholefoods were our starting point and as trends have grown so have we, with even more vegan and dietary specialist foods. This where the best place to get our Gluten Free options for guests and Vegan options for Breakfast.

Forage and Feast

Forage & Feast prides itself on sourcing and stocking locally produced artisan food and ingredients. This is the place we go to for the homemade Fudge for our returning guest gifts.

This deli is a great option should you want something for a packed lunch

Ye Old Naked Man Bakery     

This is the other half of the business to the café, this independent bakery offers a wide range of freshly baked goods – Bread Loaves, Sticks, Tea Cakes including Gluten Free and Sourdoughs. Other savouries – Pies, Pasties, Quiches and Sweet Treats – Cake, shortbread, Traybakes to name of few. This place is one of the iconic buildings of Settle and is very popular for both locals and visitors, another option for takeaway lunches and there is sandwich made to order

Moss Yorks

This little emporium on the corner of the Market Square dedicates half the shop to food

The larder provisions and home goods come from specially chosen, independent producers who share our commitment to craftsmanship and quality. They believe in supporting small-scale makers who pour their heart and skill into every item.

Trevor’s Market Shop

Just nearly opposite the Guest House is Trevor’s just like the market stall but with less wet weather!!! From Chocolate and sweets, crisps, biscuits, cakes and many canned items, and cereals plus whatever else is popular, its always worth popping in to see what takes your fancy because the phrase is “in stock until it’s not”
