Clapham’s Ingleborough Nature Trail and more!
Situated around 6 miles west of Settle is the village of Clapham which is home to many a nice day out or adventure! There are a few different ways to get to the village from Settle – apart from a good days hike :) Driving is quicker! and there is a National Parks Cark Park in the centre, and by paying the charge you are contributing to the Yorkshire Dales National Park upkeep. Therefore is best to try to avoid using the side streets and blocking residents property

Clapham Car Park
You can catch the Bus from the Market Place in Settle Town centre which runs around every 2 Hours – You need Dales Bus the 581 going towards Kirby Lonsdale
Another public transport is the Train but there is a good mile and half from the station at Clapham to get into the village itself. There is a footpath all the way and the trains run along the Bentham Line to Lancaster so its also a walk out to Giggleswick Station (not our one in Town) which is a mile from Settle Town Centre. Again these Trains run through the day every 113mins!!
So once you have arrived in the village you can walk around with its pretty river running through, quiant little stone cottages and walls typical of this area.
Make your way to the north of the village and you will find a gem, the entrance to the Ingleborough Estate and its Nature Trail which leads onto the Ingleborough Cave

Clapham Old Saw Mill Entry
The Old Sawmill cafe itself offers a great selection of hot and cold drinks (not licensed) with local made cakes and brownies (personnel recommendation) The menu for both hot and cold food is what you would expect from a good cafe, offers specials and caters for most tastes and dietary requirements. We always stop there and are never disappointed.

Lastly a little mention for the Clapham Village Store – Community Shop – this is also in the Village not far from the imposing Pub the “New Inn” by the little bridge on main street. Just had their 10th Year Anniversary operating in this community format. It’s great – apart from selling the locals (and visitors) their groceries, it’s your typical Village shop on what they should be with a little bit more – lovely local gifts and lots to look at too!
