Dark Sky Festival

For something different, you wouldn’t think of star gazing in the Yorkshire Dales would be popular but the National Park organise something every year.

Last year with restrictions in place you could join on Zoom to learn more about what’s out there in the solar system. Now you can come and visit and maybe participate in various activities on offer up unitl the 6th March.

With very little light pollution in our area, and especially when you get into the Dales the dark skies are great for spotting stars, planets, milkyways on a clear night.

Even the Northern Lights can be seen if you are lucky with the right weather conditions.

This is why the Yorkshire Dales have gained recognition as an Offical Dark Sky Reserve, and is the largest in the UK
