Ace for Ale
Ask a Yorkshire native where the best beer comes from, and they’ll likely answer: “Yorkshire.”
So when you think of Yorkshire Ale – the famous breweries in Masham come to mind for Theakston’s and Black Sheep.
However you will find there are hundreds of fine ales that can be sampled all over the county and here in Settle we have our own Brewery.
The Settle Brewery was born in 2012, using traditional methods and working with local and seasonal ingredients.
Their Cask Ales can be found around the local pubs, the nearest to us is the Talbot Arms. Usually offering the “Settle Mainline” a proper Yorkshire Bitther balanced with a hint of fruity sweetness. Other Ales such as Blonde, Ribblehead and Ernie’s Milk Stout may well be offered – if not try their online shop for a session can!
The Talbot Arms offers up to 5 Cask Ales and with reconigtion from Camra with awards in the past for Regional Pub of the Year 2019.
Settle’s watering holes all have thier offerings for a good Ale – Thwaites Brewery (although from Lancashire!) have two pubs in the local area – The Lion and Harts Head
The independant cosy friendy venue of Bar 13 is a MicroPub also serve a great variety of local Ales from Moorhouse of Pendle, Wishbone of Keighley and GooseEye of Binley
