Pennine Way Mountain Bike Ride

We had a glorious sunny day ahead of us to ride an off road mountain bike route leaving from Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Jackie & Chris headed north on a quiet lane then onto the Pennine & Dales Way with spectacular expansive views laid out around us. We met the “cam road” and could see the Ribblehead Viaduct in the dale below, with Whernside behind. The climbs were not too tough (but a challenge!) we got to around 590meters near Fleet Moss when we had a steep road decent down from the plateau to Oughtershaw. Then we took a small lane and then tracks through the valley of Green Fell beck, through the forest and along Birkwith Moor before the cracking descent to Horton in Ribblesdale passing Pen-y-ghent. In total it was 22miles (35km)
