Help look after the Three Peaks by walking the Three Peaks!
Have you ever thought of doing the Three Peaks and never got round to it?
Or you may have done them before and are ready for another go. Well, now you have the perfect opportunity.
Next year (provisional date Sunday 7th June) the Three Peaks Project Team are planning to organise a Three Peaks sponsored walk with all funds raised going to the very valuable work of caring for the Three Peaks footpath network. For the inaugural holding of what will hopefully become the “Walk the 3 Peaks for the 3 Peaks” annual event, just YDNPA staff, Dales Volunteers and Friends of the Three Peaks will be directly invited to take part, although you will be very welcome to invite friends and family to take part too. All that will be required is that all participants raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship, although hopefully many of you might raise a lot more.
All we need now is an indication of numbers that would like to take part. Our Three Peaks Team, Steve and Josh, will arrange for perfect weather and you know you’ll be in great company, so if you’re up for 24.5 miles of excellent walking including 5,000 feet of ascent in stunning scenery right here in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, whilst contributing to the work that ensures this fragile area can go on being enjoyed by 100,000+ visitors per year, then please let us know.
If interested, please email below by Friday 9th January 2015 mentioning King William Guest House, Settle indicating that you would like to do the walk and, if possible, the number of any other participants you could get involved. Whilst, at this stage, this won’t be taken as a 100% commitment to taking part, please only include yourself and any friends or family if you’re pretty sure you and they will be there on the day.
